PDP postpones the commencement of Imo governorship electoral campaign.

The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has delayed the start of its governorship campaign in Imo State for the election on November 11.

In a statement released in Abuja, the PDP National Publicity Secretary, Mr. Debo Ologunagba, acknowledged the development.The party had previously set September 7 as the day the South-East state’s governorship campaign would get under way.

According to Ologunagba, who is also the chairman of the Special National Publicity Committee for the election, said the PDP National Working Committee (NWC) decided to postpone the launch following extensive consultation with the party’s leaders and stakeholders.

The statement said: “While regretting any inconveniences the postponement may bring, the PDP urges all leaders, key players and party members to remain steady, particularly in Imo.

Sen. Samuel Anyanwu, our candidate, is leading the charge to rescue and restore safety to Imo State.

“A new date for the formal campaign launch will be communicated by the party leadership in due course.”
