Thousands of police are on standby as the UK prepares for further riots.

Potential outbreaks of violence in England have increased following a knife attack at Taylor Swift’s Southport dancing lesson. Far-right groups intend to hold rallies in more than 30 cities, targeting immigration lawyers and asylum applicants.
The government has 6,000 professional police officers prepared to deal with England’s worst disturbance in over a decade, with hundreds arrested and over 100 charged.
Despite a police announcement, extensive violence in the United Kingdom began at a local mosque, causing initial disruptions in Southport. Prime Minister Keir Starmer said that individuals engaged would face the full weight of the law, including those who incited violence online. The rioting, Britain’s worst since the 2011 London riots, has prompted warnings about travel risks.
According to PA Media, violent disorder offenders in Liverpool have been sentenced to prison terms; the first, a 19-year-old man, was given a two-month sentence; another was found guilty after he assaulted a police officer; a 15-year-old boy admitted to violent disorder after being recognized from a TikTok video; Justice Minister Heidi Alexander said the government would act to put an end to the disturbances, attributing the disorder to English Defence League supporters.
Interior Minister Yvette Cooper stated that “there will be a reckoning” for culprits, citing social media as a “rocket booster” for the violence.
Elon Musk, a tech entrepreneur, compared the UK government to “the Soviet Union” on Tuesday, escalating a feud. A representative for Starmer claimed there was “no justification” for Musk’s earlier comment that a “civil war is inevitable” in Britain.
