Minister of State for Transportation Ademola Adegoroye has committed to facilitating the Federal Government’s assistance for female professional and commercial drivers.

When the leadership of the Female Drivers Association of Nigeria visited the minister in his office in Abuja on Wednesday, he made the pledge.

The minister’s special assistant on media and publicity, Ebenezer Adeniyan, reportedly said that female commercial drivers are unique and should be supported in their career choice.

Adegoroye stressed the need of the government providing female drivers with the necessary recognition and added that the federal ministry of transportation will investigate the association’s proposal to hire female professional drivers.

Eunice Odeghe, the association’s president, stated earlier that FEDAN was established to unite all female professional drivers and automotive professionals under one organization to advance their interests and address issues unique to them.

The minister was honored by the organization as its patron as well.
