Unknown gunmen abduct pupils in Ekiti.
By: Mary Owolabi
Unidentified attackers allegedly kidnapped an undefined number of pupils in Ekiti State’s Emure local government area on Wednesday evening.
Though the specifics are still unclear, it has been revealed that the abducted youngsters were pupils at an unnamed school.
It has been reported that a group of students were kidnapped while on their school bus near the Eporo-Ekiti border.
The exact number of students who were taken is unknown and the police have not yet confirmed the incident.
The event occurred after the state’s two traditional rulers, the Onimojo of Imojo Ekiti, Oba Olatunde Samuel Olusola, and the Elesun of Esun Ekiti, Oba David Babatunde Ogunsola, were assassinated in an ambush by armed men while coming from a conference. The third traditional ruler, the Alara of Ara-Ekiti, Oba Adebayo Fatoba, evaded the onslaught.
Ekiti state governor, Biodun Oyebanji, who denounced the atrocious conduct, instructed security operatives in the state to find the assassins of the two traditional rulers and told the people of the state that the government would spare nothing to get to the bottom of the problem.
