Survivors of the Kaduna bomb dispute legal action against FG
By; Mary Owolabi
The Kaduna bombing victims’ families have refrained from suing the federal government over an alleged N33 billion compensation claim. Security personnel were summoned to track down the dishonest attorney and see to it that he was brought to justice.
Community groups, including religious and traditional leaders, denied a “fake, mischievous media statement” claiming that relatives of those killed in the tragic event had filed a lawsuit against the federal government on their behalf.
The community leaders said the attorney who remarked was on a mission to trick and had filed a lawsuit against the federal government to get paid, so they said he was on a hatchet job.
The village’s chief imam, the traditional authorities, and the heads of the Muslim and Christian communities denied ever sending a lawyer to seek recompense because they felt secure in knowing the Federal Government would step in through the PULAKU program.
They thanked Governor Uba Sani for his assistance to the populace following the regrettable bombing, and they thanked the administration for paying for the complete medical care of the injured in the hospitals as well as for supplying food, blankets, and other necessities.
Community leaders received assurances from Governor Sani that the state government will collaborate closely with security personnel to identify and apprehend anyone attempting to swindle the public during this time of grief.
Additionally, he asked the community’s leaders to question anyone who seemed dubious.
