Quique Setien has sued Barcelona for breach of contract as the former Blaugrana boss insists that the club have not paid him the agreed amount since his dismissal in the summer.
He was sacked following the Champions League humiliation against Bayern Munich, but his exit has been a messy process.
Catalunya Radio have reported that Setien isn’t satisfied with the amount that Barcelona paid him in compensation, and he’s willing to go to the end in a legal battle.
Setien’s assistants – Eder Sarabia, Fran Soto and Jon Pascua – have reached their own respective agreements with the club, although they remained on the payroll at the Camp Nou until November 6.
Barcelona are facing a difficult financial situation at the moment and this is just the latest blow to their accounts.
The club have just recently reached an agreement with their playing staff to cut the salary bill by 172 million euros.
