Abiola Abdulgafar is a 24-year old popular Comedian, entertainer and a Naval Officer, known for his unique way of making comedy skits on Instagram. Widely called Cute Abiola, Ankara Gucci and Lawyer Kunle, was born and raised in Ilorin where he lived for more than 18 years.
Abiola being the first child of the family, said his inspiration emits from his parent’s character.
In other news, it was reported that Cute Abiola was arrested around 7 pm on Wednesday, April 29, 2020, by the Nigerian Navy for celebrating his birthday by posing in his paramilitary uniform on social media and is currently being held in custody, at a Navy facility in Apapa, set to face panel on Monday.
Kenshiro Adepelumi, his colleague in the industry confirmed that he was arrested over the picture of him in full Navy Camouflage which went viral via his Instagram page, for his Birthday celebration, April 28, 2020.
She posted “PRAYERS! PRAYERS! The cute Abiola will be facing Nigeria Navy panel tomorrow because he snapped pictures with his official uniform on his birthday. We hope for the best and we pray it comes out well by God’s grace. Kindly let’s pray for @thecuteabiola #prayforthecuteabiola #freedom. ”
Lots of celebrities and entertainers had reposted the said pictures on various social media platforms, celebrating the young comedian. This action wasn’t pleasant to his Naval Bosses as it was termed ‘Public Misconduct’.
Just a few days ago, the comedian posted on his Instagram page, Monday 4, 2020, announcing his release from custody.
Pleading to conceal his experience having learnt big lessons, with a grateful heart he acknowledged prayers and supports of his friends, family and well-wishers toward ensuring he was released. He also confirmed that he is still in service.
Though a critical life step, so far, both home and abroad there’s a sparse number of entertainment celebrities incorporating their careers and talents, as they tend to temporarily forgo one to pursue the other, within a specific period or permanently settling for one.
However, the case of an Army Reserve officer Deshauna Barber crowned Miss USA 2016 can be cited.
Deshauna, a 26- year old full-time Army Reserve officer and IT analyst for the U.S. Department of Commerce, from the District of Columbia was crowned Miss USA 2016 after mounting a strong defence of women in combat roles in the military.
It is worthy of note that Cute Abiola has since been experiencing a dilemma infusing his passion for comedy skits production and his career as a Nigerian Naval officer before this recent development.
Nonetheless, he aspires to pursue his career, while exhibiting his talent.
