Oyo state has cancelled the staggered class session effective from Monday 11th, January 2020.

The directive was conveyed by a circular; EDU.1070/vol.V/T1/24, dated 24th December, 2020 and signed by the Commissioner of Education, Science and Technology, Barrister Olasunkanmi Olaleye.

You may recall that the state government, had introduced staggered session as a measure to curtail the spread of covid-19 amongst school children and teachers.

Classes were structured into two sessions in such a way that a session starts from 8 am and ends by 12pm. Afternoon session begins from 12pm and terminates at 3pm.

This idea was generally lauded and accepted by the good people of Oyo state. It is on record that no record of covid-19 was recorded in Oyo Schools throughout the period.
