The Operation SAFE HAVEN(OPSH) deployed troops at BISICHI Area Command of Barkin Ladi Plateau have rearrested Mallam Adam Yusuf ,another escaped Prisoner.
On 23, July 2020, Yusuf fled the High Court Barkin Ladi on 23 July 2020, alongside five other notorious inmates, following an ambush by some herdsmen to free them. OPSH had earlier rearrested Mallam Mohammed Ibrahim, one of the escapees and handed him over to Nigerian Correctional Service Plateau State.
The OPSH Commander, Maj. Gen. Chukwuemeka Okonkwo said the latest arrest was made in an abandoned house at Bisichi Village of Barkin Ladi Plateau State at about 1530Hrs on 18 August, 2020.
The Commander stated the 19- year- old had confessed to be among the escapees, stressing that concerted efforts were ongoing to rearrest others. He appealed to the general to disclose any relevant information that could lead to the rearrest of the remaining inmates.
He stated that the rearrested inmate will be handed over to the Nigerian Correctional Service Plateau State Command for necessary actions.
