NFF considering appointing Austin Eguavoen on permanent basis

The Nigeria Football Federation is considering making Augustine Eguavoen the permanent coach of the Super Eagles according to Ayekooto.

After the NFF ousted former German coach Gernot Rohr on the eve of the 2021 Africa Cup of Nations, Eguavoen was named to the position on an interim basis last month.

The Portuguese Jose Peseiro was later named as the new head coach of the three-time African champions by the NFF.

After the AFCON tournament in Cameroon, Peseiro is set to take over as coach.

After leading the Super Eagles to three consecutive victories in Cameroon, the former Super Eagles full-back has put himself in the running for the post.
