Nigerian comedian and actor, John Okafor, who is popularly known as Mr. Ibu, has reached out for help concerning a medical condition he is facing. In a video shared on Instagram on Wednesday, the veteran actor revealed that he has been battling an illness and is currently receiving treatment in a hospital bed. He disclosed that he has been hospitalized for several weeks now and needs assistance.
According to Mr. Ibu, the medical director of the hospital has warned Mr. Ibu that if his new treatment plan doesn’t work, amputation may be the only option left. Mr. Ibu is worried about the idea of losing his leg and asks for prayers and support. He expresses his gratitude and hopes that his leg can be saved.
In a video, Okafor’s wife and daughter appealed to Nigerians for prayers and financial assistance. The daughter revealed that she has been paying for the medical bills since her father fell ill. She also emphasized that the family wants to fly him out of the country for better treatment.
She shared that she has been managing the bills, and the financial burden has left them exhausted. Her father’s condition is not improving, with some days showing slight improvement and others indicating a worsening of his health. They are still in the hospital, but the medical team is considering transferring him to another facility for better treatment. She is appealing to individuals or organizations in Nigeria to help finance her father’s medical treatment abroad. This is not the first time her father has been in this condition.
