The son of professor Ali Isa Pantami, the Minister of Communication and Digital Economy’s who was kidnapped has been reportedly found at a checkpoint in Bauchi.

Alamin Isa Pantami, the Minister’s son, was found on Friday at a checkpoint in Dambam, a Local Government Area in Bauchi State, some hours after he was allegedly kidnapped, according to Daily Trust.

It was not established, however, whether a ransom was paid to have him rescued.

Alamin was supposed to be staying with his grandmother at the time.

One of Alamin’s guardians who confirmed his release said, “We just left the house; he is back home now. He was found in Dambam, where his abductors dropped him. They dropped him at a checkpoint and from there, he was brought home.”

Imam Hussaini, the Chief Imam of Isa Ali Jummaat Mosque, was also contacted and confirmed that the youngster was at home.

Meanwhile, the police stated that the incident had not been reported.

Mohammed Ahmed Wakil, the Police Public Relations Officer in Bauchi, informed newsmen that after he was notified about the matter, he contacted all of the city’s Divisional Police Officers, who said the matter had not been reported.

According to him, all we ask of members of the public is that they provide us with verifiable information about the movement of doubtful people in their midst so that we may take appropriate action, and that they report any problems to the police.
