In a statement issued today, Akeem Yusuf mni welcomed everyone to the new year with the promise of a fresh start for the people of Oyo State and Nigeria as a whole. He also issued an admonition to his people ahead of the next election. His greeting message states:
Dear Good People of Oyo State and the Nigeria community,
HAPPY NEW YEAR, HAPPY NEW BEGINNING.
On behalf of my family and I, I wish all the good people of Oyo State (indeed, all Nigerians) a very happy new year 2022.
Though the Year comes at a challenging time in the history of the State and the country with insecurity and lack-lustre leadership across the Land; I enjoin all residents of Oyo State to remain hopeful and positive at the forthcoming rise of new dawn under a new, bright, credible and trustworthy leadership.
Our teeming energetic and intelligent young minds should eschew all manners of crime and uncouth behaviour in the New Year (and always) as we prepare for the bright new future commencing in May 2023.
Our elders must continue to give good guidance and mentoring so that we will truly raise the new generation of “Pacesetters” who will return Oyo State to its pride of place, not only in Nigeria but Africa, economically, politically and socially immediately from May 2023.
OYO STATE WILL RETURN TO GREATNESS, AKIM YUSUF WILL LEAD THE WAY!!!
