Some gunmen suspected of belonging to the insurgent organization IPOB assaulted two voting locations during the Local Government election in Enugu State, killing at least five people.

The news crew of the Enugu State Broadcasting Service (ESBS) was also attacked at Obeagu.

Two ESBS reporters – Chiamaka Ezeaputa and Chigozie Alex-Nwafor – alongside the driver, Ebuka Collins Ogbozor, escaped.

Videos of cars burning in various locations within a facility that resembled a polling booth are currently circulating.

Additionally, the ground was littered with shattered plastic chairs and tables, as well as papers suspected to be election-related.

A man victim was seen bleeding excessively while wearing a T-shirt and a shot.

It appears that the attackers shot him as those in the background could be heard imploring the victim to calm down as they made plans to rush him to an Agbani hospital.

As of the time of reporting this story, Enugu Police Spokesperson did not pick up his phone until it rang out.
