The Speaker of the House, Hon. Abubakar Sadiq Ibrahim, was on Tuesday morning removed by the Gombe state House of Assembly and replaced him with Hon Abubakar Mohammed as the new Speaker of the House.
The Chief Whip of the House, Hon. Musa Buba who on behalf of the House briefed reporters on the removal of the former Speaker, said the exercise is of the 1999 Constitution of the Federal Republic of Nigeria as amended.
He further said, 16 members of the House out of the 24 passed a vote of no confidence on the former Speaker.
Dismissed the insinuations that they were being sponsored, he said the decision is rather of the House ,and is in the common interest of the state.
