Former England defender Gary Neville has revealed how a habit Jurgen Klopp has at Liverpool reminds him of what Sir Alex Ferguson would do at Manchester United.

Liverpool secured a slim 1-0 win over West Ham on Saturday to keep themselves in the title race.

Klopp’s side trail City by six points after a 4-1 victory over Manchester United, although they have a game in hand on Pep Guardiola’s side.

Klopp performed his usual fist pump celebration in front of the Kop after his side’s victory over West Ham.

And, as he outlined why he believes the title fight is still very much alive, Neville noted how Klopp’s reaction to marginal victories reminded him of his previous boss.

“Regardless of whether both teams have three points, we’ve got a title competition,” Neville told Sky Sports.

“Man City will be flying out of here; they’ll be completely ecstatic with what they’ve accomplished” (against Man United).

“However, there is still a title competition since Liverpool is a dangerous team.”

“I think Liverpool has the better offensive players in their group and team, I honestly feel so.”

“When you look at Mane, Salah, Firmino, Jota, Diaz, and Origi, you see six players who are truly dangerous.” Three or four of them are extraordinary, and a couple of them are world-class.

“That makes them a serious threat as the season progresses, and Liverpool has already won a trophy, as we saw.”

“They’ve got the bit between their teeth, and Jurgen Klopp’s joy following the game against West Ham was telling.”

“When it was a 1-0, Sir Alex Ferguson used to practically over-celebrate because he knew how significant it was.

“I don’t think you can say Liverpool struggled to defeat West Ham, but Man City battered United, and Liverpool may batter United again in a few weeks.”

“We’ve seen City struggle and lose here against Tottenham, so there’s still a long way to go.”

“We have a title race, two fantastic teams, and it will be exciting to see how it all plays out.”
