According to the Edo State Police Command, 12 additional passengers who were kidnapped at the Ubeaja train station were found Saturday in Ughboa Forest unharmed.

Mohammed Dankwara, the state police commissioner, stated on Sunday that the joint forces’ persistent efforts to make sure the victims were reunited with their families unharmed had made the rescue mission feasible.

He said, “I am happy to inform you that on Saturday at around 10pm, the joint security forces in Edo State launched a joint operation into the Ughboa forest through a technical intelligence provided to the command and control intelligence rapid response squad, and rescued 12 victims unharmed. This was done in a concerted effort to rescue the abducted victims of the Igueben Train Station attack.

Eunice Eseba (56 years old), Marian Mowoe (28 years old), Faith Smart (42 years old), Precious Egwuje (28 years old), Obehi Omaben (39 years old), and Amm Benson are the individuals (42 years).

Favour Akungo, age 18, Akhimen Ehiemamen, age 48, Christian Iyere, age 33, Emmanuel Esieba, age 67, Iyoha Julius, age 25, and Aguelle Beatrice are the others (42 years).

“With this, there are now 18 victims who have been freed, but the kidnappers are still holding two more hostage staff members of the Nigeria Railway Cooperation.

During this time, he continued, “operation and synergy continue to ensure the final two are rescued.”
