Liverpool forward Diogo Jota will miss Saturday’s match against Norwich, with the extent of his ankle injury still “not clear”, says boss Jurgen Klopp.

The 25-year-old went off during his side’s 2-0 win over Inter Milan in the UEFA Champions League last-16 on Wednesday.

The Reds meet Chelsea in the Carabao Cup final at Wembley on February 27 after Premier League matches against Norwich and Leeds.

“We need to analyze Jota further,” Klopp remarked.

“He will be unavailable for Norwich, but the amount of his absence is unknown.”

“Right now, very much anything is possible – that it will go fast and, sadly, the other way around as well.”

This season, the Portugal striker has 17 goals in all competitions as Liverpool competes for championships in the Premier League, Champions League, FA Cup, and Carabao Cup.

After returning from Italy, Jota was photographed wearing a protective boot and on crutches, although Klopp stated that this did not necessarily indicate a major injury.

“It’s a standard practice; they put you in that boot even if you merely feel something,” he explained.
