Africa’s richest man,Aliko Dangote, has increased his fortune by $915 million (N380.38 billion) in the last three months, bringing his net worth to more than $20 billion.
According to the Bloomberg Billionaires Index, a daily ranking index of the world’s richest people, Dangote’s new net worth has put him in 79th place among the world’s richest people.
Dangote started 2022 on a rocky note, losing $244 million in a single day after closing 2021 in a relatively stable position, but his latest achievement has made him wealthier than all Russian billionaires except four.
The decrease of Russian billionaires aided Dangote’s rise up the rich list rankings.
Seven Russian oligarchs were wealthier than Dangote at the beginning of 2022.
Leonid Mikhelson, Vladimir Potanin, Alexey Mordashov, Vladimir Lisin Vagit Alekperov, Gennady Timchenko, and Alisher Usmanov are among the cast members.
Dangote, on the other hand, is currently wealthier than all Russian billionaires save Vladimir Putin, Leonid Mikhelson, Alexey Mordashov, and Vladimir Lisin as of the end of March 2022.
Dangote’s newest ranking, which he received in March, is one of his highest ever.
Meanwhile, Elon Musk remains the world’s richest man, with an estimated net worth of $273 billion, followed by Jeff Bezos, who has an estimated net worth of $188 billion, and Bernard Arnault, who has an estimated net worth of $148 billion
