Real Madrid midfielder Casemiro insisted they won’t fall into the trap of believing their Champions League quarterfinal against Chelsea is already wrapped up after they dominated to win 3-1 at Stamford Bridge in the first leg.

Following last week’s defeat, Chelsea manager Thomas Tuchel was harsh with his players, saying it “would be hard” for them to recover – sentiments that did not go ignored in Real’s dressing room.

Casemiro said at a press conference on Monday, “We won’t fall for that.” “In London last week, we played maybe our greatest 90 minutes of the season and moved a step closer to qualifying for the semifinal, but we can’t become too cocky.”

“What Thomas Tuchel said was heard by all.” We don’t think so. We are aware that this will be a difficult match. They are the defending champions, and I can guarantee you that we will not take this game lightly.”

Casemiro urged Real fans not to lose focus and urged them to fill the Santiago Bernabeu stadium to aid their squad complete the task they began in London.

“From the beginning, we’ll need our followers to be there and support us,” Casemiro stated. “We can’t afford to be overconfident, and we need our fans to help us proceed to the semifinals.”

Coach Carlo Ancelotti agreed with Casemiro that they would not succumb to Tuchel’s pressure on Real Madrid.

“I have no doubt that Chelsea will come here to save the tie,” the Italian said at a press conference when asked if Tuchel was playing mind games with his team.

“He can say whatever he wants, but I’m confident Chelsea will come here to win because that’s the spirit of football, the spirit of huge teams and great players, to never give up.”

“I’m fortunate to have a bunch of guys who are very familiar with these types of games and understand that anything can happen.” They are in excellent spirits and are overjoyed with the prospect of reaching the Champions League semi-finals. Chelsea, on the other hand, is a formidable opponent. We need a great deal of respect, and we’re going to get it.”
