Honourable Shina Abiola Pellar, a member of the house of Representative has expressed displeasure over the razed Police station at Iseyin, Oyo state as a result of of the violence that trailed the EndSARS protests.

The Police station was set ablaze by hoodlums during the EndSARS protest, about two weeks ago .

Noting that it was the only existing Police station existing in the entire local government, Shina said he was devastated by the level of damages caused on the structure.

Speaking on the impact and importance of the force, the representative said, “I consider security as an essential enabler of
development and societal growth. Where there is no security, there will not be peace, and where is no
peace, there can never be progress.”

Announcing development as regards the tragedy , Shina said efforts are being made to ensure the structure is restored in no time.

According to him, “I am so impressed to be informed that residents of
Koso community in Iseyin local government have voluntarily contributed money and are constructing another police structure so that law and order can be
restored. It is on this note that I proceeded to the construction site and donated the cash needed for
the completion of the project. So, l’m assuring all that the project will be completed soon and things will be
back to normal”.

He thereafter implored citizens to refrain from destroying properties and facilities, rather protect them ,adding that the amenities are insufficient in the first place.

“ l used the avenue to charge my people to start guarding against destruction of public properties and
facilities. The fact is that public properties and facilities are our properties, hence we should make it
a point of duty to protect them against any form of destruction bearing in mind that these facilities are
not even enough for us in the first place.”
