Dapo Abiodun celebrates Wole Soyinka’s 90th birthday.

Ogun State Governor Dapo Abiodun has lauded Nobel Laureate Professor Wole Soyinka as a literary giant and a voice for social justice and human rights whose legacies span the globe.
Abiodun, in a statement published on Saturday by his Chief Press Secretary, Lekan Adeniran, to commemorate Soyinka’s 90th birthday today, called the first African Nobel Laureate in Literature “an icon, a literary giant, and a global ambassador of Nigeria.”
He continued, “Congratulations to Professor Soyinka on reaching the wonderful milestone of 90 years! Throughout his life, he has become not only a literary giant but also a champion of social justice and human rights.
“His contributions to writing, theatre, and activism have left an everlasting impression on the sands of time. Here’s to celebrating his extraordinary accomplishments and wishing him many more years of inspiration and impact,” the governor stated.
The governor praised Soyinka for his gifted writing and advocacy, which have contributed significantly to the growth of literature, culture, and democracy in Nigeria and around the world.
Abiodun praised the great playwright, poet, and writer for his six-decade dedication to the cause of social justice, human rights, and good governance.
He stated that Soyinka’s reputation as a brave, moral, and brilliant public intellectual will inspire future generations of Nigerians and Africans.
Abiodun wished the famous professor many more years of good health, wisdom, and fulfillment as he celebrated his milestone 90th birthday.
