Manchester United boss Erik ten Hag expects Cristiano Ronaldo will stay at the club beyond this summer.
Ten Hag also says the club will not buy anyone else before Thursday’s transfer deadline once the signings of Antony and Martin Dubravka are completed.
United and Ajax have reached an agreement on an £81.3 million deal to bring in winger Antony, while they are nearing an agreement to bring in Newcastle United goalkeeper Dubravka.
Ten Hag declared, “For this window, it will be the end.”
“At a prestigious club, you must always be on guard. But we’ll use this squad at least from September through January.
When asked about forward Ronaldo, 37, Ten Hag added: “Of course it’s apparent. We require talented athletes.
“More coverage of all the games is required to maintain continuity, and that’s what we aim for.”
Ronaldo, a Portuguese international who led United in scoring last season with 24 goals across all competitions, has expressed a desire to depart Old Trafford this summer.
After reading so many “falsehoods” this summer, he just stated that he will soon share “the truth” regarding his future.
Ten Hag, meanwhile, declined to comment on Antony’s arrival since “the paperwork is not done so I cannot go too deep into it.”
He did note that “we need to strengthen our squad” in the attacking area.
We now attend three games per week because we have numerous games to cover, according to Ten Hag.
Because they must run more often and harder, offensive players in particular get tired more quickly.
“There is a need for numbers, and not just quantity, but quality.”
