Unknown gunmen hijack passenger buses in Rivers

Unknown gunmen have been reported  have kidnapped two passenger buses.

According to the Nation Newspaper, buses from Port-Harcourt were allegedly hijacked along the Degema/Buguma/Abonnema Road on the East/West road on their way to the Kalabari riverine axis in Degema, Asaritoru, and Akukutoru Local Government Councils.

Although the Rivers Police Command has yet to acknowledge the occurrence, people say it has increased tension in the neighborhood.

The passengers’ and buses’ whereabouts were unclear at the time of publishing this report.
