Real Madrid duo of Karim Benzema and Ferland Mendy were back in training on Thursday, meaning they might be able to make the trip to face Celta Vigo this Saturday.

Both players missed El Clasico just before the international break, but they have now recovered from their respective muscular injuries and working to return to match sharpness.

If they feel ready enough for Saturday’s crucial LaLiga Santander match then they’ll travel to Vigo, but the focus is on returning for the UEFA Champions League quarter-final first leg away at Chelsea next Wednesday.

The two Frenchmen aren’t the only players who have been on the injury report this midweek.

Eden Hazard is out for the rest of the season, while Luka Jovic and Isco are also doubtful, the former because of an ankle injury and the latter because of back pain.

Toni Kroos, meanwhile, has recovered from a bout of sickness he was experiencing at the start of the week.

Luka Modric, Casemiro, Eder Militao, Rodrygo and Fede Valverde have now returned from their international duties, as has Gareth Bale, although the Welshman returned with a slight knock.
