Former Nigeria’s Super Eagles midfielder Justice Longs Christopher has been confirmed dead it was revealed.

He was said to have died in the early hours of Wednesday at his hotel in Jos, at the age of 40.

Christopher began his professional career with Katsina United in 1999, before moving on to Sharks a year later and then Bendel Insurance in 2001.

Under late coach Stephen Keshi, he captained the Flying Eagles to the African U20 title in Ethiopia in 2001.

His efforts earned him a spot in the country’s squad for the 2002 FIFA World Cup in Korea/Japan.

Christopher also played for Antwerp FC (Belgium), Levski Sofia (Bulgaria), Trelleborgs FF (Sweden), Alania Vladikavkaz (Russia), and Herflge BK (Denmark) in addition to domestic clubs.

He made 11 appearances for the Super Eagles.
