Chief Sunday Adeyemo, also known as Igboho Oosha, a Yoruba Nation agitator, has been granted conditional parole by authorities in the Republic of Benin after serving roughly eight months in prison.

Chief Yomi Alliyu SAN, Igboho’s principal counsel, verified the news on Monday evening.

Sunday Igboho recovered his conditional freedom to receive medical assistance within Cotonou, according to Alliyu’s message.

He further revealed that Igboho was released on the condition that he not leave the hospital centre or Cotonou for any reason.

Professor Wole Soyinka and Professor Banji Akintoye, two famous Yoruba indigenes, intervened to secure conditional release, he noted.

“Two notable Yoruba people should be praised, namely Professor Wole Soyinka and Professor”

“Thank you, Banji Akintoye, for the quick response in our client’s case.”

On Monday, July 19, 2021, the International Criminal Police Organization apprehended Igboho and one of his wives, Ropo, at the Cadjèhoun Airport in Cotonou, Benin, on their way to Germany.

After a deadly midnight assault on his Ibadan home by Department of State Security personnel, the Yoruba Nation agitator was attempting to make good his escape from Nigeria (DSS).

One person was killed in the secret police’s midnight operation, while 12 Igboho sympathisers were captured.

“I am to advise you that Chief Sunday Adeyemo (a.k.a Igboho Oosa) has been freed from prison to his medical practitioners,” Alliyu said in the statement.

“He was released on the condition that he not depart.”
