Serie A league leaders Inter Milan maintained their impressive winning run on Sunday afternoon, sneaking to a 2-1 victory over relegation-threatened Torino in Turin.

The Turin based team went toe to toe with their visitors in the first half, and they even had the best opportunity of the opening 30 minutes, with Lyanco hitting the post with a close-range header from a free kick.

But that was it in a slow first half for the league leaders.

Inter were sloppy at the start of the second half, but they were handed the perfect opportunity to take the lead when Lautaro Martinez was clipped in the penalty area, and Romeu Lukaku rolled home the resulting spot kick.

But Torino fought back, and while Nerazzurri were busy making complaints about non-existent fouls in the penalty area, Antonio Sanabria was well placed to slot the ball beyond Samir Handanovic.

The Nerazzurri showed their character in the dying minutes, as substitute Alexis Sanchez whipped a delightful cross into Martinez’s path, and the forward did brilliantly to head the ball back across goal and into the bottom corner of the Torino net, sealing all three points.
