Following a fire incident as a result of a fuel tanker which caught fire on Otedola bridge , along Lagos – Ibadan Expressway on Saturday, an heavy traffic has built up along Berger -Alausa – Magodo axis of Lagos State .
The incident, gathered to have happened a few minutes to 6 pm, caused panic on the expressway as many vehicles made U -turn ,trying to avoid being engulfed by fire.
Some passengers were also seen alighting from vehicles hurriedly.
Many passengers were also stranded at the Alausa Secretariat and toll gate bus stops.
The details of the fire incident was yet to be ascertained as of the time of filling this report .
Some motorists who spoke to newsmen lamented that they had spent over one hour in the gridlock.
One of them , Akpan , said , “ I regret passing this route today . I have been here for about one hour . My passengers have all alighted and they were yet to pay their transport fares .”
