In the succession of the late Emir, Alhaji Mohammed Ahmed Asha who passed away after a brief illness, Sanusi Mohammed, a serving army major has been appointed as the new Emir of Kaura Namoda in Kaura Namoda local government area by Zamfara State government.
Prior to his appointment, Mohammed was the commanding officer, administrators’ battalion at the Nigerian army’s 7 division garrison in Maiduguri, Borno state.
Zailani Bappa, the media aide to the state governor, Bello Matawalle said on Thursday, the appointment was preceded by recommendation from the Kaura Namoda traditional council as enshrined in the selection procedure.
An available statement on Thursday read that, His Excellency, Governor Bello Mohammed (Matawallen Maradun) MON, has approved the appointment of Alhaji Sanusi Mohammed as the new Emir of Kaura Namoda.
“The approval follows the recommendation from the Kaura Namoda Traditional Council as enshrined in the selection procedure.
In remembrance, Governor matawalle once again prayed for the repose of the deceased Emir, While wishing the new Emir a successful reign.
It is demanding of major to resign his position with the Nigerian Army in order to take up this new responsibility as an Emir.
