Kano State Ex-commissioner of Works and Infrastructural Development, Engr. Mu’az Magaji who was sacked for celebrating the death of late Abba Kyari, a few weeks ago has been confirmed COVID-19 positive.

Magaji confirmed this on Thursday morning, via a post on his Facebook timeline, that he has been evacuated to a state isolation facility for treatment.

The Ex-commissioner wrote, “this morning, my NCDC test is out. I have been confirmed COVID-19 positive, and have been moved to one of the state facilities,”

Recall that Governor Abdullahi Ganduje of Kano had on April 18 sacked Magaji as a result of his unguarded utterances over the demise of Abba Kyari, the late Chief of Staff to President Muhammadu Buhari, who died as a result of the complications of the Coronavirus in April.

Also, recall that the sacked commissioner had come out to say he was misunderstood by the post.

Speaking further on the wild card thrown at him, Magaji said, “going through a historical moment of our time, a time we will either live to remember or we will be remembered having lived in. Whichever applies, Alhamdulilah,” the sacked Commissioner added.
