The Oyo state Teaching Service Commission Computer Based Test (CBT) for the applicants seeking teaching and non-teaching jobs in the state, has been scheduled to commence before 15th of August.
The examination is said to likely spread for about a week is scheduled .
The Chairman, Oyo State Teaching Service Commission (TESCOM), Mr. Akinade Alamu on Monday, gave the hint while giving an update on the recruitment process.
Alamu said ,about one thousand existing non-teaching staff who had acquired additional qualifications and expressed interest in converting to teaching staff in various schools in the state has just been concluded.
Additionally, he said uploading of about 70,000 applicants for the teaching and non-teaching jobs has been done, noting that qualified candidates will be reached through their registered emails.
He also said the Parents Teachers Association (PTA) Teachers will be among those to be tested through the CBT because of the lack of their proper profiling and documentations with the government, adding however that such candidates will be given preference.
It could be recalled that the vacancies rolled out by the state government, early February, through the TESCOM is for 7,000 teachers; 2, 000 non-teachers and 1,600 night guards.
About 156,000 applicants were initially confirmed to have showed interest in the 10,600 teaching and non-teaching jobs in the public schools across the state.
According to Alamu, “The PTA teachers will form part of the recruitment that we are going to undertake. You know, we did not know much about their background and their qualifications, so we will give them preference during this ongoing recruitment exercise.
“We just concluded the conversion of Non-teaching Staffs, those that are already staffed in all schools who have acquired additional qualifications and they intend to convert to teaching, we have just concluded their interviews and there are about one thousand of them.
“And we have concluded the uploading of the credentials of the applicants. I can assure you that before the 15th of August, we will have the CBT for the about 70,000 applicants.
“For those who uploaded their credentials, we will get back to them through their email and give them the date of the examinations.
“Before 15th of August, the CBT examination will start; you know it will not be a day examination. It will spread over a week because of the number of candidates that will take the examinations.
“I can assure you that the examination will start before the 15th of August but we will send the examination details to applicants that have uploaded their credentials.”
