Ondo Ex-Governor Olumilua passes on


Evangelist Bamidele Olumilua, the former governor of old Ondo State has been announced dead by His eldest son, Muyiwa Olumilua, who is Ekiti Commissioner for Information and Civic Orientation, on Thursday.

Muyiwa said that his 80-year old father died in his Ikere-Ekiti country home in the early hours of Thursday following a brief illness.

The second civilian governor had his 80th birthday a few weeks ago. The late Olomilua was the Governor of old Ondo State from January 1992 to November 1993 during the Third Republic.

He was elected under the platform of the Social Democratic Party (SDP) until General Sani Abacha truncated civilian administration and restored a military regime.
