Nationwide protests: NACCIMA asks OPS and others to embrace peace and avoid violence.

By: Adisa Deborah

Dele Oye, National President of the Nigerian Association of Chambers of Commerce, Industry, Mines, and Agriculture (NACCIMA), has urged Nigeria’s organized private sector and other stakeholders to encourage their local communities and states to maintain peace actively.

They were also advised not to use violence since there are preparations for a statewide demonstration over the country’s rising cost of living and economic hardship.

In a statement issued yesterday, Oye stated that as stakeholders in the country’s economic and social stability, no one would benefit from a catastrophe.

He continued: “In light of the anticipated protests across Nigeria, NACCIMA earnestly appeals to all our partners, the Organised Private Sector of Nigeria, and our members to play a proactive role in encouraging their local communities, cities, and states to maintain peace and refrain from any form of violence.”

We work closely with the Federal Ministry of Industry, Trade, and Investment, which understands the impact of instability on both governments and businesses. As stakeholders in our nation’s economic and social stability, we must recognize that no one benefits from a crisis.

“We urge you to disseminate this message of peace and calm, emphasizing the importance of dialogue and non-violent approaches to conflict resolution.”Our chambers and corporate members are invited to make similar pleas for peace within their networks.

“By promoting peace, we can secure the sustained prosperity and stability of our economy and society. Let us strive together to embrace peace and ensure our shared future.
