Dokpesi, 7 family members test positive to COVID-19

The founder of DAAR Communications Plc, High Chief Raymond Dokpesi and seven members of his family have tested positive for Coronavirus.

His son who is the Chairman of the board of the company, Raymond Dokpesi Jnr had tested positive for the virus, just 3 days ago, hence the company’s index case.

The Nigeria Centre for Disease Control, NCDC, conducted the COVID-19 test on the Dokpesi family and results came out positive for eight members of the family.

The family members have since been evacuated by the Nigeria Centre for Disease Control, NCDC, to the isolation centre at the University of Abuja Teaching Hospital Gwagwalada where the index case is already receiving treatment.

Shortly after the arrival of the NCDC Ambulance on Friday, High Chief Dokpesi had said he was feeling well and quite ok , which shows that his condition is still asymptotic ,that is ,was yet to show any symptom of the disease.

The Chairman of the DAAR Board, was the company’s index case , after symptoms similar to malaria’s manifested. When Persistent bouts of cough , he decided to contact the NCDC and is test later turned out positive.

Contact tracing amongst his family members including his father, High Chief Dokpesi ,members of his household , senior management and members of staffs of the company who had been in close contact with the index case, commenced promptly.

The FCT Health Authorities had also carried out an immediate disinfectant of the entire DAAR Headquarters building situated at Kpaduma hills in Asokoro District Of Abuja.
