Dogara’s Loyalists also defect to APC

Following the recent defection of the immediate past Speaker of the House of Representatives, Hon.Yakubu Dogara, to the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) party,in less than 2 weeks, his loyal supporters from a part of his constituency ,Bogoro Local Government Area have also exited the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP.

It could be recalled that Dogara, who represents Dass/Tafawa Balewa/Bogoro Federal Constituency in the House of Representatives, left the PDP following disparity with the state governor, Sen. Bala Mohammed.

An elated APC Chairman in Bogoro LGA, Haruna Rikayar while receiving the defectors on Saturday assured them that they would be treated equally as he boasted that the APC would regain back power in the state, starting from the LG elections billed to hold in October 2020.

Bulus Iliya, a loyalist of Dogara and also aspiring for Bogoro Chairmanship in the coming LG elections ,while leading the defectors ,said they have decided to retrace our steps and come back home.

Iliya, said that his decision to return to the APC was informed by the need to be united with his political godfather, vowing to remain loyal to him.

This is as he charged the governor Bala Mohammed to be just and fair in the conduct of the local government Councils election in the state.

Bulus Iliya lamented of the Dogara-Loyalists being neglected in the PDP without any recognition given to them.
