Democracy Day: The FG proclaims June 12 as a Public Holiday.

The Federal Government has designated Wednesday, June 12 as a public holiday to mark this year’s Democracy Day event.
Dr Olubunmi Tunji-Ojo, Minister of Interior, announced on behalf of the Federal Government and congratulated Nigerians on the occasion.
Dr. Aishetu Gogo Ndayako, the Permanent Secretary in the ministry, said in a statement issued on Tuesday, “As we mark another Democracy Day in the history of our dear country, let us all reflect on the efforts of our founding fathers and ensure that Nigeria remains a united, secured, peaceful, and indivisible entity.”
He urged Nigerians to respect democratic norms.
Hon. Tunji-Ojo emphasized President Bola Tinubu’s commitment to beneficial measures to revitalize the nation’s economy and improve security.
The Minister also urged Nigerians and friends of Nigeria to recognize the progress that has been made and look forward to a brighter future for Nigeria’s democracy.
