Dani Ceballos will remain at Arsenal until the end of the season after Real Madrid agreed to extend his loan spell at the Emirates, according to reports.
But the 23-year-old will have a decision to make on his return to Spain, it seems, with his future at the club dependent on who is in charge past this summer.
Should Zinedine Zidane remain at the club next season, Ceballos will have to look elsewhere with the Spaniard out of favour under the Frenchman.
Ceballos wants regular first-team football at a club in which he can make an impact, and that is not going to happen at Real Madrid if Zidane is in charge, according to Marca.
Real Madrid are assessing their options for the midfielder, who has been linked with a permanent move to the Premier League.
Ceballos spent two seasons at Real Madrid under Zidane. During that period he made 56 appearances, scored five goals and provided two assists.
He has gone on to feature 25 times for Arsenal this season across all competitions after joining them on loan in the summer transfer window.
The former Real Betis player also has a credible international history, playing a vital role in Spain’s success at the European Under-21 Championship in Italy last season.
Ceballos has not only sparked interest in the Premier League but has also caught the attention of Valencia, who previously tried to swoop the youngster in the January transfer window.
