Occasioned by the COVID-19 pandemic, the 2020 cycle of the Nigeria Prize for Literature has been announced not to hold.
Others such as the prize ,the Nigeria Prize for Science and The Nigeria Prize for Literary Criticism are also postponed to 2021, according to the organisers.
The organiser at a virtual conference on Friday disclosed this, anchoring the decision on the COVID-19. Since 2004, the prize, a yearly award that runs concurrently worth $100,000, is powered by NLNG. The cycle planned for this year – poetry -will come up next year.
