 Okuneye Idris, aka Bobrisky, a controversial crossdresser, may spend Eid-il-Fitri in custody. He was arrested on April 3 and convicted by a Federal High Court in Lagos on Friday, April 5, 2024, after pleading guilty to charges of naira abuse filed by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission. The EFCC filed six counts against Bobrisky, with the first four related to naira abuse and the last two concerning allegations.

He, however, requested a pardon, stating that he was unaware of the regulations governing Naira misuse and promised to teach his admirers on social media about it.

“I am a social media influencer with over 5 million followers. I would post a video on my Facebook to teach folks about spraying money. My Lord, I will not repeat it. My Lord, I regret my deeds. “I am a first-time offender,” he explained.

Justice Abimbola Awogboro subsequently scheduled his sentencing for April 9, 2024, and ordered that he should held in EFCC custody until then.

Bobrisky’s sentencing date of April 9 clashed with the Eid-il-Fitri break, and the sitting might not take place unless Justice Awogboro decides to sit today.

The divisive crossdresser will most likely spend his holiday in detention.
