Akinremi’s remains will be airlifted to Ibadan as her family reacts to her death during a ‘brief illness’.

The leadership of the House of Representatives is in advanced talks with the Office Chief of Naval Staff about bringing Musiliudeen Olaide Akinremi’s body to Ibadan for burial.

Akinremi, an All Progressives Congress (APC) member, was first elected in 2019 and reelected in 2023.

A military background member from Oyo state has been assigned to oversee the process. Akinremi, aged 51, had been serving his second term representing the Ibadan North federal constituency before he passed away earlier today. In the meantime, the family has responded to the loss of their dear son.

It is with deep sadness that we inform you of the unfortunate demise of Rt. Hon. Prince Olaide Akinremi Jagaban, who served as the representative for Ibadan North Federal Constituency in the House of Representatives. Hon. Olaide Akinremi passed away after a short illness.

During this difficult period, we sincerely appreciate the supportive messages and condolences from the public. Further details regarding funeral arrangements will be communicated to the media at an appropriate time.
