2024 budget: N15.961 billion will be spent on domestic and international travel by Tinubu, Shettima, and aides.

According to the 2024 Appropriations Bill that the National Assembly is now debating, N15.961 billion would be spent on domestic and foreign travel in Nigeria’s presidential mansion in 2024.
It is anticipated that President Bola Tinubu will spend between N7 and N630 billion on travel, most of which will be used for overseas excursions. Vice President Kashim Shettima has allocated N1.847 billion for travel expenses, of which N1.229 billion is for overseas travel and N618.19 million is for domestic travel.
The federal budget for 2024 allotted N40.616 billion to the Villa Headquarters, with N12497 billion going toward capital, N10.334 billion going for overhead, and N163 billion going toward staff. N9 billion was set aside for the villa’s mechanical and electrical systems’ routine upkeep.
Simultaneously, an additional N4.5 billion was allocated to cover Julius Berger’s obligations for regular upkeep in 2022–2023 and work as instructed in 2022–2023, encompassing Kaduna’s contributions. N2 billion was set aside for SUVs and N4 billion for operational vehicles.
N130.076 million was allotted for the building of the villa ranch and wildlife conservation, while N45.259 million was designated for the restoration of the villa’s animal enclosure. In 2024, it is anticipated that President Tinubu and Vice President Shettima will spend N5.128 billion on meals, miscellaneous, honoraria, refreshments, fixed asset repair, and computer software procurement.
Vice President Shettima would spend N348 million on food and catering supplies, while President Tinubu would spend N254 million on food.
The 2024 budget cycle includes N430 million for the State House headquarters. N187 million for miscellaneous things, N219 million for miscellaneous items, and N65 million for fixed asset repairs and rehabilitation are the total amount spent on miscellaneous expenses. While President Tinubu would spend N152.4 million on honoraria and a sitting allowance, the Vice President would spend N103 million on computer software.
